Jeffersontown City Council
Cynthia for the City
Born here. Raised here. Still here — by choice. Cynthia Kinnard has spent over 40 years serving the people of Jeffersontown, and she's just getting started.
Meet Cynthia
Cynthia Kinnard has had every opportunity to leave Jeffersontown. She never did. This city is her home — not just the place she grew up, but the place she chose to stay, to serve, and to invest her life into for over 40 years.
She's attended Jeffersontown High School. She's served on the Jeffersontown Ethics Commission. She's worked alongside the Jefferson County Police Department on their Christmas outreach. She's raised money for families across the city, supported youth through the Jeffersontown Youth Council, and cared for the vulnerable through Good Samaritan Community Services.
"I could have left — but Jeffersontown is in my heart. These are my people. I'm not running for a title. I'm running to serve."
She has stood on the stage and sung at six Jeffersontown mayoral inaugurations. She has shown up for Dare to Care when neighbors needed food. She has led, organized, fundraised, and volunteered — quietly, consistently, and without waiting to be asked. Now she's asking for the chance to serve in a new way.
Platform
These aren't talking points. They're convictions. Cynthia has lived in Jeffersontown long enough to know what matters — and she's not coming to City Council to play politics.
Cynthia is not a politician — and that's exactly the point. She is someone who leads with honesty, deals with people as individuals, and understands the real responsibility that comes with serving on City Council.
She doesn't believe in saying what people want to hear. She believes in doing what is right — transparently, consistently, and with integrity. Having served on Jeffersontown's Ethics Commission, she knows what accountable leadership looks like, and she will hold herself to that standard every single day.
Cynthia believes City Council should do everything in its power to help small businesses thrive. She wants to see more jobs in Jeffersontown — not just jobs for some, but real opportunities for everyone.
She believes deeply that all people deserve a chance to live their dreams. If that dream is owning a business, she wants to be in your corner. From cutting red tape to connecting entrepreneurs with resources, Cynthia will be a tireless advocate for the people willing to bet on themselves — and on Jeffersontown.
Young people are not just the future of Jeffersontown — they are citizens of today. Cynthia believes that how we treat our young people right now says everything about who we are as a community.
With hands-on experience through the Jeffersontown Youth Council, Cynthia sees youth as an asset — not a problem to manage. She will fight for programs, mentorships, and resources that give every young person in this city a reason to believe Jeffersontown believes in them.
A Life of Service
For over four decades, Cynthia Kinnard has shown up for Jeffersontown — not for applause, not for a title, but because these are her neighbors. Her record of community service speaks louder than any campaign promise.
